What happens when I stop renewing the subscription?

The license is a Perpetual Fallback License. When you stop paying for a subscription, you will still be able to keep and use the latest version of Avo at the point in time when the subscription ended but you will loose the ability to update to a newer version.

Can I try the Pro version?

Definitely! The easiest way of doing that is to change the license type to "pro" in your development environment. You'll have access to all Pro features on that environment.

If you'd like to try those features in production too, then start a no-credit-card-required 30 day trial and deploy your app to your production environment.

Is this a Ruby on Rails app or a package?

Avo is packaged in a Ruby gem which you can install into your own Rails app. This makes for a better update experience where you don't have merge conflicts between your app and the underlying updates.

Can Avo be used in existing applications?

Yes! It's designed to be easily added in new apps and existing ones.

In how many apps can I use the license?

You can use the Community version in as many apps as you want.

The Pro license is valid for one application running in one production environment (one URL).

Why is it a subscription?

Subscriptions allow us to continue to provide maintenance, bug fixes, and new features and enhancements.

You can cancel your subscription anytime but you'll no longer have access to the latest improvements.

What if I already have a v1.x license?

All customers that have a 1.x license can upgrade to 2.0 (in the first year of the 2.0 launch) and receive one year of upgrades for free.

What kind of support do you offer?

Depending on the type of license you purchased we offer support via email or dedicated Slack channel. When required we provide more advanced support like video calls with the creator, in-person workshops with your developers, and more.

What is your update policy?

Avo apps receive new features, bug fixes, and other maintenance updates regularly using bundler. These updates are included as long as you pay for an active subscription.

What is your return policy?

Because you can try the Community Version for free and try out the paid versions too, we can't offer refunds. Contact us before purchasing and we'll be happy to answer any questions before you purchase.

What Ruby on Rails version do you support?

Avo has been tested on Ruby 2.6 and higher and Rails 6.0 and higher. We have heard from customers they installed it on Rails 5.0 too.

Will v1.x keep receiving updates?

Yes. We'll still provide security updates for v1.0. We'll not ship new features or bugfixes though. We want to focus all our efforts to make sure you get the best experience using v2.0.
